Unit 2: Intro to Pages

Standards Assessed

(1) Creativity and innovation. The student uses creative thinking and innovative processes to construct knowledge and develop digital products. The student is expected to:
(D) create and execute steps to accomplish a task; and
(E) evaluate and modify steps to accomplish a task.

(3) Research and information fluency. The student acquires and evaluates digital content. The student is expected to:
(B) use research skills to build a knowledge base regarding a topic, task, or assignment.

(6) Technology operations and concepts. The student demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of technology systems, concepts, and operations. The student is expected to:
(E) use proper keyboarding techniques such as ergonomically correct hand and body positions appropriate for Kindergarten-Grade 2 learning.

  • Creating, saving and printing Pages files with text and images.

Performance Tasks  (main subject integration: Literacy)

  • Goal: The goal is to provide personalized learning to each student, each student will write a letter to Santa Claus.
  • Role: Student
  • Audience: The target audience is the Santa Claus.  The letter to Santa that will be display on the Winter Arts Day.
  • Situation: Students will learn and master a specific content learned in class.
  • Product: She/He will write a letter to Santa in Pages, using the correct font/size and color. Student will insert images into the letter.
