Hour of Code

This week we will celebrate 'Hour of Code' with thousands of others across the world. We will be coding hands on with the Osmo's! You will control Awbie, a playful character who loves delicious strawberries. With each coding command, you guide Awbie on a wondrous tree-shaking, strawberry-munching adventure!

Google Drive

This week we signed into your Google Drive accounts, this is where you will be keeping a record of your work throughout your time here at KISJ. Please make sure to update and upload your work weekly.

Math Planet

When you finish all 18 levels of Math Planet Grade 2 (remember to have 3 stars on each level), please email me and I will deploy Math Planet Grade 3 onto your iPad. Once you are done with Grade 3 I will give you Grade 4! Keep up the hard work!

Fall Break

Over Fall Break please complete all 5 levels of Digital Passport, this is a great app to help you master your digital citizenship skills. You can play the levels as many times as you want to help improve your score. Your login is the first part of your email (same as TypingClub) and your password is your student ID number.

If you have time over Fall Break, explore your Motion and Force science app. Check out all the lessons and give the experiments a try.

This week I came into your classes and helped you set up your KISJ email accounts. Remember our rules:
1. Never email or reply to an email from a stranger.
2. You are only allowed to send emails to teachers.

For earlier finisher work this week, test out your internet smarts at Safety City.

Lights, Camera, Action!

This week I came into your homeroom classes and we practiced how to use the camera app. Remember: always use two hands, always check the settings before you take a photo or video, and always ask your friend if you can take their photo first.

iPad Contract

This week I will be coming into your classes, we will review our school iPad rules. We will go over the iPad contract, please make sure to return the iPad contract to your homeroom teacher with your parent's signature on it.

Below is a copy of the iPad contract and rules for you to read over with your parents. Try singing the iPad song for your parents! I know they will love it, here is the music.

First week of school

Welcome to KISJ! I am so excited to have you in Tech class. This week we will get to know each other and talk about all the exciting learning we will do this year!

I will be coming to your classes this week to make sure you have your tech items that are on the supply list, they are:
1. iPad Air 32GB or higher.
2. One iPad charger that will stay at school.
3. iPad case with attached bluetooth keyboard.
4. Charging cable for the iPad keyboard case that will stay at school.
5. One set of headphones (no earbuds) that will stay at school.

Typing Club Type Off

Typing Club is a great tool to improve your typing skills.

Those students who complete all 100 levels (3 stars per level) by the last week of school will receive a special award signed by Mr. French.

Those who have 5 Stars on all 100 levels by the last week of school will receive the special award and go to the deli with Ms. Cornelius for a special treat during snack.

Your username to Typing Club is the first part of your email; your password is your student ID number.
