Standards Assessed

(2) Communication and collaboration. The student collaborates and communicates both locally and globally using digital tools and resources to reinforce and promote learning. The student is expected to:

(3) Research and information fluency. The student acquires and evaluates digital content. The student is expected to:
(B) collect and organize information from a variety of formats, including text, audio, video, and graphics.

  • Understand the importance of collaborate online and offline.
  • Correctly be able to gather information from the internet and properly be able to cite their source.
  • Understand the importance of a their digital foot print and repercussions of their online actions.
  • Social norms and private issues of information on the internet.
The student will be able to...
  • Be able to collaborate over Google Drive on school assignments.
  • Know how to find information and images from the internet and to give the author credit.
  • Know that once it's on the internet it's out their forever.
  • Understand what is ok to post online and what is not.

Performance Tasks  (main subject integration: Science)

  • Goal: You and your group will create and host a game show based on weather and the water cycle.
  • Role: You are a TV game show producer, and will need to create a live game show experience.
  • Audience: Your audience will be the contestants and the people watching from the auditorium.
  • Situation: “Are you Smarter than a 3rd Grader?” is coming to Korea, and challenging the brightest minds of KIS fourth and fifth graders. You have been assigned the job of creating the show format, the questions, and participating in the show itself.
  • Product: You will design a format, create questions, and using Google Docs and Presentations.  All work will be done by collaborating through Google Drive.
