Unit 2: Methods of Presentations

Standards Assessed

(1) Creativity and innovation. The student uses creative thinking and innovative processes to construct knowledge and develop digital products. The student is expected to:
(B) analyze trends and forecast possibilities, developing steps for the creation of an innovative process or product.

(2) Communication and collaboration. The student collaborates and communicates both locally and globally using digital tools and resources to reinforce and promote learning. The student is expected to:
(B) use font attributes, color, white space, and graphics to ensure that products are appropriate for multiple communication media, including monitor display, web, and print; and
(E) evaluate the product for relevance to the assignment or task.

(6) Technology operations and concepts. The student demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of technology systems, concepts, and operations. The student is expected to:
(E) use proper touch keyboarding techniques and ergonomic strategies such as correct hand and body positions and smooth and rhythmic keystrokes.

  • Understand the importance of pre-planning and how it will help them in their producing their project.
  • Understand the importance of knowing what their end result should be before starting their work.
  • Understand the types of different computer formatting and know which format is best for which desired outcome.
  • Understand and practice proper keyboarding skills.
The student will be able to...
  • Know how to preplan their projects to create easy flow when completing their work.
  • Know why it is important to have an idea what their project should look like before starting.
  • Be able to know different file types and when to use which file type.
  • Be able to use correct keyboard placement and at grade level WPM.

Performance Tasks  (main subject integration: Literacy)

  • Goal: Students will learn to develop and implement a business plan.  Students will present their plan to the "investors."
  • Role: Student as the entrepreneur
  • Audience: Investors (teachers and fellow students)
  • Situation: These entrepreneurs will join into groups to create a product and market it to potential customers.
  • Product: Implementation of Business Plan
  • Standard: See Technology Standards.
