Standards Assessed

(2) Communication and collaboration. The student collaborates and communicates both locally and globally using digital tools and resources to reinforce and promote learning. The student is expected to:
(F) perform basic software application functions, including opening applications and creating, modifying, printing, and saving files.

(3) Research and information fluency. The student acquires and evaluates digital content. The student is expected to:
(C) validate and evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of information.

(4) Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. The student researches and evaluates projects using digital tools and resources. The student is expected to:
(D) evaluate technology tools applicable for solving problems.

Performance Tasks  (main subject integration: Science)

  • Goal: Students will be able research, brainstorm, collect and evaluate the information they find in educational websites on the topic of matter and energy.
  • Role: Students will imagine themselves as scientist and will create their own planet using matter and energy.
  • Audience: Your audience range from children of angry colonists, to the kids of the first citizens of a new nation, to the sons and daughters of US citizens struggling in a country divided.
  • Situation: Students will create a presentation for the attendees in "NASA" conference (fellow classmates.)
  • Product: Students will create a presentation about their planet, presentations will include a digital slide show, and a model of the planet made in Art class.
