Performance Tasks  (main subject integration: Social Studies & Math)

  • Goal: Your goal is to plan a multi-country vacation for a family, traveling to three countries from the three regions of Asia. Your family will visit culturally relevant places that represent the blending of the past and the present.
  • Role: The student will be a travel agent for KIS Worldwide Tours..
  • Audience: Your audience is an English speaking family, living in Korea, who have never traveled outside of the US or Korea before.
  • Situation: An English speaking family of four has asked your company, KIS Worldwide Tours, to plan a multi-country visit to Asia for their family. The father of the group is interested in historical sites, while his wife really loves cultural activities. Their children, ages 9 and 11, just want to have fun. They have given you a budget of $15,000 to plan for 2 weeks of vacation, and they need you to budget for travel, lodging, and leisure activities.
  • Product: You need to prepare a written tour itinerary and a budget for this trip. You will also WOW your family by preparing a TripWow by TripAdvisor presentation of the places they will visit on their journey, which will include a map of their journey.
