Unit 6: Robotics (8 weeks)

Unit Summary

Students will learn the basics of that makes a robot a robot, how they function and how they effect our daily lives.  Students will spend the first four weeks learning with the Bee Bot Robotics, using their coding skills to program the robot.  The second four weeks students ​be learning with the Code-A-Pillar, starting with the app then moving to hands on building with the robot.

  • Robots have a usefulness in their lives.
  • Programming is an the life behind a robot and how they connect.​
  • There are many different types of technology that effect their daily lives.
  • How robots and technology has grown over the years.
  • What makes a robot a robot?
  • ​Do robots have an important place in our world?
  • ​How do robots complete a task?
  • In what ways does technology make life easier?
  • ​In a world of constant change, what skills should we learn?

  • Distinguish how technology is used in their daily lives.
  • Identify how the world is constantly changing and how technology accelerates the changes.
